Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Xavier came to us as a one year old chocolate lab mix, wbut rumor has it that he is a liver coated German short haired pointer mix. He is an extremely beautiful boy who craves love and attention...a real love bug. He does very well with other dogs and absolutely adores all human visitors (who he is sure are only here to see him).
Xavier needs some patience and guidance as he learns what is okay in the house and what is not. He is potty trained as far as number 2's but is learning everyday about tinkling inside. He is also working on his leash skills.
Although he is heartworm positive, Hero Rescue will cover the medical treatment for this ailment which is common and extremely treatable.
Whatever breed he is, he is highly motivated by squirrels, deer, and chipmunks and seems to be able to (or seriously thinks he can) climb trees. Xavier will need a strong personality who is determined to make the most out of everything this gorgeous animal could be. He is incredibly intelligent, athletic, and strong.
Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.
Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
