Stratford is the sweetest little Shih Tzu, he needed to be shaved down when we rescued him, but his coat is growing back very nicely and when fully grown out he is going to be a very pretty dog. He is approx 3 years old and 13lbs
He gets along with all of the other dogs but is very independent and does not play with any of them, he likes to hang out on the patio or on his doggie bed, he likes curling up in an open crate and runs outside when he needs to go to the bathroom, he seems to be well house trained, he loves to eat and waits in the kitchen in the morning to be fed and likes snacks throughout the day, he is a really nice little boy and is going to make a nice companion for someone, he checked out very well at the vets and is in good health.
The total adoption fee of $400 ( and includes , the interstate health cert and transport ,spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper ,canine influenza, and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at

We require all adopters to fill out an initial application so that we can check references. We try to match our dogs with a family that fits the needs and individuality of our homeless pets. We work tirelessly to find the right homes with people who will love their pets for a lifetime. We do this through email, phone, and any other means of communication to ensure a good fit.
