My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

She's so kawaii!

Hey guys! I am Tokyo, and I am a 3 year old, female spayed Lab mix, about 50 lbs and u-don even know how happy I'll make you! I was rescued from the hell that was the Ensenada shelter ESLR. I found myself at an amazing foster home, being loved. I am fully bathroom and crate trained. I have been working hard on my leash training, as I struggle with leash reactivity. With more training and positive encouragement, I will learn to be more confident when out and about in the neighborhood.

Treats make me-so happy! I am super motivated and easy to train and do fun things. I am a people pleaser and like to make sure everyone is smiling all the time. I am very easy going, happy to spend time in the crate but also can go for a run/walk everyday. I like sniffing around in the backyard and having a good time with my toys. I haven't had much experience with other dogs or cats, so I am not sure how I will do. I get along very well with the kiddos at home and have hung out with a toddler.

Well, I will make a wonderful companion doggo with my sweet, easy-going nature. I fit in nicely with my pawrents and kiddo siblings. I love to het my exercise in the day, and play with the kids in the evening. The rest of the time, I entertain myself with my toys or chill in the crate. I will love you so mochi! My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
