EMERGENCY PLACEMENT DEADLINE 5PM 10/02/24 Name: Mamas Animal ID: A840633 Age: 6 years Weight: 35 lbs. About: Meet Mamas! This petite pocket pittie has an incredibly sweet demeanor and is the perfect size for snuggles. Mamas originally came to PACC as a stray in June. PACC was able to contact her owner, who stated that she was no longer able to keep Mamas and surrendered her to the shelter. Her former person said that Mamas is housebroken, crate trained, very sweet with people, enjoys car rides, and has done well with young children. Mamas recently enjoyed a 3-week foster break from the shelter, where she was again said to be housebroken, crate-trained, and affectionate with her people. Mamas` staff and volunteer friends at the shelter have said that she is energetic, sweet, and good-natured. While Mamas has shown positive interactions with people, she has struggled with other dogs. She has a history of reactivity and can be defensive, particularly when encountering smaller dogs. In her recent foster stay, she had an encounter with a small dog that unfortunately left the dog fatally injured. For this reason, Mamas must meet any dogs she may be living with and may do best in an only-dog home.
Adoption Requirements and Considerations: •Meet-and-Greets: Potential adopters must bring any dogs Mamas would be living with •Ongoing Monitoring: Even after a successful meet-and-greet, Mamas should be closely monitored to ensure she doesn`t initiate any altercations with other dogs. •Training and Socialization: Mamas may benefit from additional training and socialization to help her interact more positively with other dogs. •Patient and Understanding Owner: A loving and patient home is essential to provide Mamas with the support she needs to thrive.
Finding the Right Home: Mamas is a sweet and affectionate dog who deserves a loving and supportive home. With the right training and environment, she can be a wonderful companion. By providing Mamas with a patient and understanding home, you can help her overcome her challenges and live a happy and fulfilling life. Adoption Process: Interested parties: •Must visit PACC before 5:00 PM Wednesday, October 2nd deadline to meet with an adoption counselor who will go over Mamas notes and then introduce you and any dogs to her to ensure that it’s a good fit. •Available for adoption or long-term foster care 30+ days through PACC
