Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Jóla came to us in January 2024 a day after giving birth to a litter of kittens. She was semi feral and very protective of her babies. But we saw hope that once she was finished raising them that she could be a house cat. After she did a wonderful job raising her kittens and the kittens were weaned, her Foster Mom worked with her on socialization and she's now a happy, loving, affectionate little house cat. She's shy with new people, but loves to be pet when she trusts you and really likes when you play with her with a wand toy. She's not a lap cat, but enjoys lying next to you and she is a great companion who really enjoys being pet and hanging out with her humans and will only continue to flourish in a furever home as she bonds with her adopter. She will do best with an experienced cat person who will allow her time to acclimate and get to know and trust them. Jola is about a year old and is a pretty chill cat who likes to lay in a cat tree and watch birds out the window. She would not be good with small children or dogs. She is prone to being bullied by other cats, but gets along great with her foster buddy Treasure, who she'd love to be adopted with, but would be perfectly fine as an only cat also. The first step is to complete an Application. Start at the Adoption page on our website - https://www.straycatblues.org/adoption-process
2.

You will be assigned an Adoption Representative who will review your application and check your vet and personal references.
3.
Meet the Pet
Once approved, we will set up a meet and greet for you with the cat(s) you are interested in.
4.
Sign Adoption Contract
Your Adoption Representative will go over paperwork with you. You will sign and then pay the Adoption Fee.
5.
Take the Pet Home
This is the best part! Take your new cat home!
Additional adoption info
During review of the application if you rent your home, we confirm with your landlord that you are allowed to have the cat per your lease.
We also consider if a particular cat is a good fit for your home. Certain cats will do better in homes without small children, or without other cats. Other cats may need to be adopted with a cat that they are bonded with. So we make sure that the cat and the home are a good match before completing an adoption.
Some of our fosters allow trial adoptions, where you would have 2-3 weeks to make sure that the cat being adopted was accepted by the other pets in your home. If you are interested in this, please ask your Adoption Representative.
All cats adopted from Stray Cat Blues have been screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Additional vet work is completed for those cats that require additional care. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes until they are adopted.
You are also welcome to come visit cats at our PetSmart Collegeville and PetSmart North Wales/Montgomeryville locations (see times for adoption showings). If you see a cat there that you like, you can complete an adoption application there in person.
Questions - email us at: contact@straycatblues.org. We are happy to answer general questions, and also put you in touch with the foster families for questions about specific cats.
Adoption Fees:
• $150 - Kittens up to one year of age
• $100 - For cats over one year and up to 7 years of age
• $70 - For cats 7 years of age and over.
All fees are subject to Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax and a minimum of $5 or 5% service fee.
Fees for cats with special needs will be determined based upon circumstances and may result in a fee reduction.
