Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Poppy AKA Prada, if you can't tell from her pictures just how sweet Poppy is, here is what her (curmudgeonly, typically disinterested) foster dad had to say about her: Oh my gosh, she's probably the sweetest dog I've ever met!
Yes, Poppy is able to win over even the hardest of hearts! This sweet girl is currently being fostered with two other dogs, three cats, and a horse. She has done well with every four-legged friend she's met and settled into her foster household very well. Poppy is wonderfully crate-trained and will go right into her crate without making a peep all night. She is also housebroken.
Poppy has a higher energy level and would LOVE a home with another young, playful dog who enjoys wrestling and chasing. She could also do well in an active home as a running buddy, or a home with space for her to run and explore. And hey, if you've got a horse farm, that would be fine too!
Poppy really is the sweetest dog ever, as her foster dad claims. She loves people and just wants to be as close to in your lap as her gangly, 60lb body will allow. Whether you're looking for a playmate for your current dog, a running buddy, or a snuggle buddy - Poppy is your girl!

More about this shelter
In 1987, an initial attempt was made to organize a local humane society in Caroline County. While this attempt did not succeed, those same dedicated volunteers were not deterred.
From our humble beginnings 30 years ago, to where we are today, we are proud to be called “the little shelter that could”.
We provide service to our community through pet adoption, Rabies Clinics, Trap-Neuter-Return, Pet Pantry, Pet Lost & Found, Re-homing, Intake Diversion, Cremation
