These best friends (Phoebe & Monica) were brought to the HSOV late in the afternoon on June 4, 2024 by Good Samaritans who found them on State Route 26 in Washington County Ohio (near Bloomfield Ohio). Neither of the girls were wearing a collar, and they were not microchipped.
Phoebe is the younger of pair and is likely about one-year old. She has a sleek black short smooth coat with a white 'lightning bolt' on her chest, a long tail, and a beautiful face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose on her cute muzzle, and semi-erect ears. Phoebe weighs 42 lbs.
Monica is estimated to be 3-years old. She has a black short smooth coat with a subtle wavy texture, white paws, a long tail, and a symmetrically-marked face with expressive brown eyes, black freckles on her muzzle, and large floppy ears. Monica weighs 54 lbs.
Phoebe and Monica were understandably nervous when they found themselves in an unfamiliar place and couldn't understand what on earth was happening. Thanks to HSOV Executive Director Amy Rogers and Tracy Lynn Moore and our shelter staff who worked together to help these sweet dogs relax and know that they were already loved by them.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Phoebe and Monica will be held for three days so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership. If anyone recognizes Phoebe and Monica or can provide information about them and where their home might be, please call the HSOV at (740) 373-5959.
