My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Juniper, the fetchingly good-looking pup who is ready to leap into her forever home with zest and a wagging tail! Yes, she loves a good game of fetch and is eagerly awaiting a life filled with adventure, guidance, and an abundance of love. This young, spirited girl is all set to embark on a thrilling new chapter with you.

Juniper's zest for life shines brightly as she joyfully runs and plays with both human and canine friends. While she might initially appear a bit reserved with new acquaintances (her social introvert side peeking through), give her a little time and you'll see her transform into a bubbly, outgoing companion whose loyalty and friendship are unwavering.

A diligent student of life, Juniper has mastered basic commands, walks beautifully on a leash, and always brings her best manners to the table. In familiar surroundings, she is exceptionally focused and well-behaved. However, in new environments, she might momentarily forget her training and react with barking, a reminder of her youthful exuberance and still-developing cognitive skills.

Juniper is in her formative years, where the emotional and decision-making parts of her brain are still connecting. She thrives under the guidance of a patient and knowledgeable human who can provide steady leadership as she navigates the complexities of growing up.

She also enjoys the company of other dogs and would benefit greatly from having a confident canine companion to look up to and play with. Another dog in her new home could help her learn and grow in confidence.

If you're ready for a loving, lively addition to your family, Juniper is eager to meet you. Remember, the initial introduction might be a bit daunting for her, but once she gets to know you and senses the exciting adventures you have planned, together with the guidance and leadership you'll provide, she will undoubtedly reciprocate with all the love her heart can offer.

More about this rescue

Sonoma's Haven Inc. 501(c)3 organization was founded in June 2015 after seeing the shortage of fosters that are able to take in rescue dogs needing a safe place to stay until they are adopted. This is a crucial part of the process and Sonoma’s Haven is here to help the rescues. Without space for a dog to go they are unable to intake the dog. Sometimes the situation is urgent and they cannot wait for a foster to step up or the dog might need help medically and emotionally before its ready to be in a home setting. Our organization creates a safe atmosphere for dogs to begin the process of healing and learning the joys of life. We finished our new facility in Sealy, Tx in June 2018. We were able to include a lounge area in our building design which allows dogs to enjoy some of the things usually only dogs in a home environment experience. The lounge includes super comfy couches for them to hang out on and decompress and just get some one on one attention from staff and volunteers. All of our staff members have a passion for caring for these dogs that stay with us. We get to be a stepping stone for these dogs as they learn how to trust humans again and enjoy what it is supposed to be like for a dog. We have a large fenced area that they get to run and play in. Understanding that the dogs here are searching for that perfect foster/forever home we like to capture photos and videos of the dogs to assist the rescues in their efforts to network the dogs.
