Looking for a lap dog? I love affection once I feel safe. The M stands for mmm, mmmm, good, but I just go by Ady for short.
My life began with my mama and siblings in the forest. Being very small, it was very difficult for us to survive out there. In the evenings we would go to the main road to look for food. A lady noticed us and started to bring us food. Since we were very scared, we didn’t allow this lady to touch us, but she kept returning to feed us for several weeks.
One day while my brother was waiting for our mom to come back, he fell asleep under a parked car. Unfortunately the driver didn’t notice that my little brother was there when they started their car, and well.... my brother didn't survive. The bustling world proved scary for us!
As a contsant in our lives, the kind lady with food kept returing to feed us and after sometime, we started to trust her, which was when she was able to bring us to live in the shelter.
I can be a little nervous, since I am very small. Loud noises can still make jittery.
I do so love being petted though. Once I build a bit of trust, which doesn't take long if you are not loud or fast moving with me. Then it's all peachy snuggle time. I am submissive, so won't bother another dog. I am fine with other dog. Cats, no clue. They might scare me more than the other way around. I have not really had any leash experience yet.

I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, but am not yet microchipped. LALDR will provide for this cost at our vet.
My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.

Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess. We are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
