My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maggie- this 12# beauty queen is ready to show you that anyone can be both beautiful and athletic! Did someone say Ball?! Watch out, this queen can also play fetch better then most and will honor and defend her sphere of fabulousness with her life. Can you throw a ball? This is a requirement for her adoption. Also treats when retrieved are appreciated. Maggie is a spry and active 6 year old Chihuahua mix of sorts, and she is great with other dogs, cats, and kids- (so long as they understand and R E S P E C T that the ball is not for sharing).

Maggie would enjoy another small dog in her adoptive home, or to be adopted with her son Zeus! Maggie is house, crate and lap trained and really loves her people and dog friends. She is also great with cats and would be fine with older, respectful kids. She can be vocal when she feels the urge, so a home without shared walls would be best. She enjoys the retreat of her cozy crate when unattended, tired, scared, and to eat her twice daily meals. This is something that would be required in her adoptive home.

Maggie is fixed, vaccinated, dewormed, health checked and recently had a dental. Her adoption fee is $200. To be considered please apply online at caws.org. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
