My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a little guy with a big personality? Zeus is the sweetest and snuggliest boy who loves to SMILE! Zeus enjoys other little dogs, meandering in the yard, laying in the sunshine, and chewing on his treat bones! He is a timid and nervous guy initially but once he feels safe he is loyal, loving and silly.

Zeus LOVES his crate and will need access to one in his adoptive home as this is where he prefers to retreat when tired, scared, unattended and for meal times. He is also house trained and is a pretty quiet boy. He is good with cats, other dogs, and even kids. We do think older, respectful children will be best as he is uncomfortable with scary noises and fast movements. He has lived his whole life with his mom, Maggie. They would enjoy being adopted together, however this is not a requirement. He would be happiest with another little dog to play with in his adoptive home.

Zeus is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, health checked and has even recently had a dental. His adoption fee is $200. To be considered, please apply online at CAWS.org

Please note that we carefully select adoptive homes that best meet the needs of the animals in our care and not on a first come, first serve basis. Thanks! Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
