SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Olive is a lovely little girl who came to us recently from a WV shelter after her owner passed away. She was initially a bit shy but warmed up quickly and loves to be right beside her person. She lived in a home with another very small dog and appears to get along well with well behaved dogs. Olive is clean and quiet, and perfectly sized at just 18 pounds. As a young adult, she has finished growing. She is a perfect size for most homes! Olive is in good health, spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an active adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with this her. A home without large pets and small children, and with a fenced, secure yard will give Olive room to run and play, and have bonding time with her adopter.

Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Olive and match our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Olive at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting her and determining that she matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
