Vaquita is a rescue from Puerto Rico where she was living in a garbage landfill trying to survive with her friend Loki. They were at risk every day from the trucks driving in and out, but fortunately the employees kept an eye on them as long as possible until they were able to be rescued.
They are both funny, grateful dogs who are so happy to be safe in a foster home where they are receiving love, and a cozy couch to rest on. Vaquita is friendly to other dogs and to all people she meets, in spite of her sad beginning. At 1.5 years old she is about 25 pounds. She is gentle, patient, and level headed.
She will arrive in Albion, NY in late June and we would love to have a family waiting to meet her!
Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. For more information on adopting please email

There is an application which is required for initial approval, with personal references, and vet references. We may require a home visit, each adoption is different. We are easy to work with, friendly and try to fit the right pet in the right situation!
