My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Wow, that is one big cat."
Fender Bender is in the front office of SAMS, so we get this a lot from our visitors. And yes, he is a big boy. Almost 14 pounds of pure handsome. But Fender Bender has other attributes besides his looks! He is very sweet and loves some good pets. He's also very playful and loves to run around with the younger kittens of the shelter. He is over 1 now, but he's still got lots of kitten in his system! Although he is good with cats, he would prefer a home without other dominant males, as he is the big boss, and he likes it that way!

More about this shelter

Stray Animal Midway Shelter (SAMS) was incorporated in 2010 with our focus being spay neuter assistance. In Noovember of 2013 SAMS purchased property and now operates as a no-kill shelter in Peoria County. We work closely with local and surrounding county shelters and obtain healthy and adoptable pets that would otherwise be euthanized for lack of space. SAMS receives no funding from government, state, county or municiple entities and are funded solelyby fundraising and donations. You can help by volunteering, adopting and donating to our cause.
