For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
This helps Humane Society of Scott County with pet care costs.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rookie came to us as a stray and seems to have been discarded and sadly forgotten about in her former life. She is cautious, but also passionate about those who are kind and gentle to her. Her loyalty to that subject and the humans she loves is undeniable.
We have a belief system within that the overlooked special dogs, that are often deemed timid/shy by society are the ones that show us how to paint the rainbow to a better ending.
Rookie is looking for humans as dedicated to making the world a better place as she. Humans with conviction in their stride, patience, understanding and passionate courage in their hearts. She's that's magical beautiful dog awaiting her Forever after with humans worthy of that power. Having another dog in her future family may help build her confidence and help show her the ropes on how to be a dog and that humans are kind.
Rookie is not in the main public section of the shelter, so be sure to ask for her by name if you come to visit her!
