My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I am Courtney! I am one of the most well mannered dogs you will ever meet! I was found as a stray in horrible condition. I have worked so hard to get healthy. I am told it is my turn to find a forever home that will love me. I really love people and dogs are ok, but cats are an unknown. What my foster momma says about me: If you want to have a hiking dog, Courtney is not your girl. She is very chill and prefers to go outside do her business and come back into the house for a life of leisure. She is crate trained and potty trained. Her skin still can use a little bit of nursing but she is ready for her fur-ever home. What I love about this girl is she will greet you with a little bark and loooong howl which is so endearing to me. If you put an application in, I am happy to send you a video of this sweet howl that greets me every time. She is a snuggle bug and a very happy go lucky girl. If you want a couch potato for movie nights, she is your girl! She also doesn't mind playing dress up! Look at the pic with her at a local event - she doesn't mind any of the puppies around!

If your application is chosen and approved we will setup a meet and greet with the pet. You will hear back regardless if chosen or not.

We place the dogs in the best home not the first home. Please be patient while we go over all apps and we will be in touch.

We are foster based. You must apply on Crossyourpaws.com first. If your application is chosen as the best fit for the dog we will move forward with the approval process. Once approved you will be setup with a time to meet the dog. Our dogs are all over the greater Pittsburgh area.

Our decision to start a rescue is not one that we have taken lightly, it has come after years of volunteer work with other groups. Our goal is to make this world a place where starving, abused animals is a thing of the past. That shelters filled with dogs and cats waiting to be euthanized is unheard of. We want euthanasia to be something to help pets on their way to the Rainbow bridge not to end lives because of overpopulation. We vow to save every life that we can.
