My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spock is a 7-year-old Terrier mix with a gentle heart and a longing for a calm, patient forever home—one that he can call his own personal `Enterprise.` This little guy came into our care as a stray, and his time in the shelter has been stressful for him, leading to some fear-based behaviors. Spock would thrive in a quiet, low-traffic household without children, where he can build trust at his own pace and boldly go where he’s most comfortable: by your side.

Though initially wary of new people, Spock has shown that with patience and a gentle approach, he can become a loyal and affectionate companion. In his foster home, Spock demonstrated that he can form deep bonds once he feels safe. He loves to solicit affection in his own way, rubbing his head and body against his trusted person, but he does have a sensitivity to touch, especially around his neck area.
Spock’s ideal adopter will be someone who understands his need for space and who is willing to take things slowly. He responds well to treats and positive reinforcement, and with time, he can learn to enjoy leashing and walking without stress. A relationship built on patience and gentle encouragement will allow Spock to truly “engage” and show his affectionate side.

In a calm and understanding environment, Spock has the potential to be a wonderful companion. He’s shown that he can be relaxed and even playful when he feels safe, enjoying moments of connection and showing his sweet, gentle personality. So if you’re ready to open your heart and home to a dog who just needs a bit of time to adjust and feel secure, Spock is ready to join your crew.

Come meet Spock and give him the chance to find the quiet, loving home he’s been dreaming of—where he can finally “beam up” to a life filled with love and peace!
