My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our adoption process can be found on our website here: www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/process

Estimated birth date: 5/14/23

Personality: Clingy, Cuddly, Laid back, Nervous, Quiet.

Favorite treats: He has enjoyed everything offered.

Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Rat Food.

Favorite toys and activities: Snuggles, Cuddles, & Puddles of brothers.

Potty trained: Litter Box Trained.

This animal’s daily routine: As long as his food bowl is full and his water is fresh he is very flexible with when you visit the cage and do play time..

BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): Toaster Oven, Stovetop, Dishwasher, & Microwave are a bonded group and must be adopted together.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: These rats have been near several species and don't seem bothered by anything.

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? None

Health concerns: Toaster Oven has recently recovered from a URI so we are monitoring for reoccurrence.

Behavioral concerns: The kitchen boys are all in our trust training program for their shyness when being handled. They are the kindest, gentlest rats with no mean bone in their bodies but they are quite intimidated when it comes to interacting with humans and prefer not to be picked up. Learn more about our trust training methods at https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/trust-training

Update 8/23: These boys are super chill, friendly guys who have not bitten while in rescue. They are however hesitant to be held and prefer to use a transfer box when leaving the cage.

Other notes:

Toaster Oven, Stovetop, Dishwasher, & Microwave came to MNPPR when their previous owner was no longer able to keep up with care.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the Either PetSmart location in Rochester, MN - 3845 Marketplace Dr NW, Rochester, MN 55901 & 4603 Maine Ave SE #109, Rochester, MN 55904 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

Fee: Toaster Oven, Stovetop, Dishwasher, & Microwave have a combined adoption fee of $65

We absolutely DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS! Please do not ask.

Toaster Oven's care while in rescue has not yet been sponsored. If you would like to donate to provide veterinary care, food, bedding, and enrichment for Toaster Oven or other pocket pets in the care of MNPPR, please visit https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/sponsor-a-pocket-pet for more information.

More about this rescue

MN Pocket Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization primarily serving the Twin Cities Metro Area, focusing on education and public outreach. Our intent is to keep all animals in their homes, with their families, whenever possible. We are committed to rescuing those pocket pets that are in jeopardy of being euthanized or are in danger of being abused, left unattended or in other types of vulnerable situations. We ensure all animals receive proper veterinary care, medication and special training for any behavioral issues, as well as to arrange safe, temporary homes for these animals until stable forever homes can be found. Our team is made up of enthusiastic volunteers who work passionately to serve the underrepresented and often misunderstood niche of pocket pets in the overall rescue community and general public.
