My story

Princess Peach has overcome the odds and she is ready to find her forever home!

Peach was found as a stray with a belly full of worms and covered head to toe in fleas, so much so that she was anemic from them. Her shelter papers stated she was found with her siblings, some of which were not alive.

Princess Peach has even battled a skin infection and an upper respiratory infection, In such a short life this girl has been through it.

She was all on her own at the shelter when we met her, and we were shocked when we came back a couple weeks later and she was still waiting for an adopter. (Luckily she got to spend a short time in a temp foster through the shelter before we scooped her up!)

True to the testament of how amazing dogs are, you would never have any idea Peach has had a bad day in her young life.

Peach is estimated 10 weeks old and is 19lbs. She is a lanky, beautifully big eyed gal and she is always down to party!

She loves to play, and is good with kids and dogs, and is learning that not all kitties want to be your BFF.

Peaches has excelled at potty training and crate training, is working on learning what things are appropriate to nom on, and she is just a few tosses away from playing fetch and bringing the toy right back to you.

When you adopt a dog from Swamp Haven, you’re not just saving a life. You’re beginning a journey filled with love, loyalty and trust. Life can be busy and stressful. The companionship of a dog is a constant reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things. At Swamp Haven, our mission isn’t to just help down-on-their-luck dogs find their forever homes. Our mission is to create a lasting relationship with you and your family.
Adopt happiness. Our adoption process is unique in that we work with you every step of the way to ensure that we’re placing the right dog with the right family. First, chat with us about what you’re looking for in a dog and we will set up a time for you to meet the lucky pup. From there, fill out an application. Once reviewed we set up a time to bring your potential pup to your house for a home visit and trial week. We want to make sure it’s the right fit for both your family and the dog involved. We will be totally available during the trial week for any questions or concerns. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun!

Swamp Haven is an animal rescue organization that takes down-on-their-luck dogs and nurtures them back to a healthy mental and physical state, so they can find their forever home. Our goal is simple. We save innocent dogs that have been overlooked by society and provide short-term care including vetting (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and heartworm and flea prevention) and training to learn how to walk politely on a leash, play in a pack and live calmly and lovingly in their new home.
