My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hey there potential new family, my name is Jaykie, and I'm an Australian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix. I'm almost 3yrs old, and I'm making up for lost time by learning quickly how to live in a home, how to make friends, how to play with toys, and how to be the best cuddler you could ever want.

I'm crate trained and actually really enjoy my quiet time in this safe space. I'm wonderful on a leash, my foster mom was shocked that I don't pull or act crazy when on walks! I'm still working on not marking in the house, but I've made tons of progress in a very short amount of time and I do great wearing my belly band. I'm a low to medium energy dog who will cuddle with my head in your lap, but who will also go on long walks and hikes with you. I have done well with the kids I've met, so I'd do good in a home with dog-savvy children. I make lots of canine friends everywhere I go and within my foster home, though I do best with dogs who are on the calm/submissive side. Since I'm new to this domesticated life where I get full access to food and toys and love, I do occasionally resource guard when another dog tries to steal from me, but I'm working on being patient. I would do just fine as an only dog because my human will quickly become my best friend, but I wouldn't mind a canine sibling as long as they're respectful of boundaries.

I've waited a long time for a family that adores me and wants nothing more than for me to feel loved and happy.  If you're interested in meeting me and hopefully making me part if your family, go to  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication
