Home At Last Sanctuary, Inc. only place dogs within a one hour drive from Rockville MD. When we have an approved application Cisco will go for the home visit and meet and greet. If there are other animals a sniff test. This will assist in determining if there is chemistry, if there is a match, and to get the dog comfortable with the environment. We leave and if there will be an adoption we will return after the family has prepared for a new family member. After we complete the home visit it is expected that you will adopt within one weeks time. If you are not prepared to bring home a dog at this time do not apply. Thank you

Cisco arrived in our foster home 5/29/24. He was surrendered by his owner who was older and unable to provide the care Cisco needed. Cisco is a neutered male Havanese. He is up-to-date with his vaccinations. He currently weighs 19 pounds and would be good for him to loose a little weight. Cisco is a laid-back lap dog that does not require a lot of exercise. He has not lived with other dogs. In foster home with 3 other foster dogs he expresses he has boundaries and they have been respecting them. He has engaged play a little. Cisco was diagnosed with bilateral luxating patellas. This will slow him down a bit and he should avoid jumping up and down from high places. You should do you own research and speak to your veterinarian before you complete your application.
