My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Chrome was brought in as a stray.

Here is an update from the foster:
Chrome settled in wonderfully and making great strides in the foster home. She's became comfortable coming and going from the backyard on her own and even heads back inside without prompting-a big step for her confidence! While she still gets easily startled by certain indoor sounds (like the TV or dishwasher) and outdoor noises (like motorcycles or honking), she adjusted well. Chrome has bonded nicely with her foster's dogs, suggesting she might thrive in a home with another active, playful dog.

When left alone, Chrome adjusted well to free-roaming the house, settling in without signs of nervousness. She's even graduated to having free range at night, sleeping quietly without any issues. Chrome is did fantastic overall, and her foster believes she would do well with either a single-person adopter or a family with a dog friend to help her keep blossoming!

At SDHS:
Chrome has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Interested in adopting Chrome, please email ,escadoptions@sdhumane.org

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
