My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** COURTESY LISTING *** PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL THE PERSON LISTED. DO NOT CONTACT WARF AS WE HAVE NO FURTHER INFO. Suki, is a drop dead, beautiful 4-year-old Great Pyrenees dog who was rescued from a high-kill shelter earlier this year. She was adopted but was recently returned due to her protective/guardian temperament and insufficient outlets to accommodate her working-dog needs. She displays a strong livestock/guardian temperament. Suki is a loving, happy, wonderful dog who needs a family to protect and a job on a farm, ranch or somewhere in the country with space to run. She is spayed, UTD on vaccines and microchipped. She also does fine with other dogs, is good with cats, rides great in the car, walks great on a leash and is potty and crate trained. Suki was pulled from Kern County by Jelly's Place in the 11th hour before she was to be euthanized. She had been abandoned in an orchard. She was adopted by a family with 2 young kids and a very chaotic lifestyle. She had a very hard time with that. She loved the parents and one of the kids. But, the 5-year-old child made her very nervous and she was very uneasy with the nanny who came in daily. She started guarding and snapping at the nanny and the little boy, so they had to return her. She is fine with the people she knows, but is very protective of her space and her humans. She has bonded with one of the rescue staff members at Jelly's and is incredibly affectionate and loving. She would probably be fine with older children. IMO, she would do best on a farm or ranch with one family that knows the breed and with whom she can bond. She would make a great guard dog and a loving family dog. For more information, please contact: Kari Schneider (925)330-8367 or Wendy Wolf (510)599-2271November 3, 2024, 4:20 pm
