My husband and I adopted Penelope 9 years ago after she was picked up by NYC animal control from the streets of Brooklyn. When she was found her hair was dyed pink and completed matted, she was malnourished and had no identification. Since we adopted her we have spend countless hours, money and love to care for her. She was previously very reactive towards people and other dogs, we sent her away to be trained by an ex military and personal protection dog trainer who worked on her aggression issues and successfully trained her to behave using a e-collar. Penelope is now 10 years old and unfortunately we are unable to provide her the care she desires day to day. Our family has expanded to two children (3 and 1) as well as a second dog and we are very busy and living in Manhattan. Penelope needs to be in an adults only home where she is the only dog and she can be the center of attention. She will also do much better in a suburb where she can potty often in an enclosed backyard.
