Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Billy is approximately 4-5 yrs. old. Billy is ready for his forever home but
will need a very special family. Billy has a strong personality and he also
suffers from significant anxiety. (He is on medications that help his
anxiety) The combination of personality and anxiety puts Billy in a
situation where he will need a very patient, dedicated, strong and loving
human. Patience is key with Billy and he will require a very structured
environment.
As indicated, Billy has a strong personality as many bulldogs do. He is the
type of bully that needs to understand that he is not in charge, yet with
his anxiety he needs that loving praise to help him understand that he is a
good boy. Billy learns commands and routines quickly and is VERY food
motivated.
He is slow to trust people but has shown to give females his trust more
quickly. He does have significant struggles trusting men. Billy cannot be
crated or isolated due to his anxiety. He loves being around other dogs. In
fact, we believe that Billy would thrive a home with another dog. Billy
loves to take walks when the weather is right.
Billy does have gastrointestinal issue that requires ongoing medication
and a special diet. Billy’s condition is called Lymphangiectasia (difficulty
digesting normal dietary fats). This condition is fully controlled with the
daily medications, and a combo of prescription kibble and regular kibble
(two to one). We are happy to report he is doing great in this regard; in
fact, we would say he is thriving.
Billy is looking for that very special family. Is it you? We guarantee that
Billy will steal your heart if you are willing to give him the time, attention,
patience and love he needs.
If you are interested in Billy please visit our website: www.ilenglishbulldogrescue.org, and read through our adoption criteria to see if you meet our requirements. If you do, please fill out an application to adopt.
Billy's adoption fee is: $550.00

More about this rescue
IEBR was formed in 2009 to find homes for purebred English Bulldogs. IEBR rescues dogs from shelters and puppymills and accepts dogs from owners who for any reason can no longer provide a home for their bully.
The bulldogs that come through our rescue program are seldom in “perfect” condition in terms of health, temperament or both; however with a little love, medical attention and time, rescued English Bulldogs dogs make great companions.
IEBR does not find dogs for people – our mission is to find great people for wonderful dogs.
