My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Anchor has been through what her foster mom refers to as "Kitty Boot Camp." She says, "We have a very lively household with kids, dogs, and cats. Anchor has learned to thrive in a busy environment and you'll find her right in the thick of it. She is an absolute champion biscuit maker and will shower you with purrs while kneading away. My kids tote her around and she is very playful." Anchor was part of our ocean-themed litter found orphaned at just a few weeks old back in June. She has that classic mackerel tabby striped coat with darker fur along her spine and of course the sweetest little face. All of our cats are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped and spayed or neutered.

We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $160 to $185. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
