Sophie is a sweet 7-year-old white/pied English Bulldog who loves to play in the water and is highly treat-driven. She was surrendered to us when her previous owners moved and could no longer keep her. Sophie doesn’t always play well with other dogs, but she gets along better with males she mostly does her own thing and loves to follow her human around for attention. She would thrive, in a home with only one other dog, preferably male. If she is brought into your home I would not put her immediately with another dog but give her time and space with slow introductions. It will take some time for Sophie to feel comfortable and secure in a new home. Sophie needs a patient owner who can provide her with the love and stability she requires to feel at home. She is in good health for her age, but requires eye drops as she doesn’t see that well.
We have had Sophie for four months, and during this time, she has shown her love for water play and her eagerness for treats. She is potty trained but she will most likely have accidents in transition. She is crate trained that is her home and she will let you know when she wants out. Her English bulldog talk is incredible and hilarious. She is not tested with cats but if you have some and they do their own thing then, she will be fine. Older kids are a plus not toddlers.
She needs time to adjust and feel at home, so an understanding and loving environment is essential.
