My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Everett is a charming, affectionate cat who loves nothing more than to snuggle. His favorite pastime is sleeping and can often be found napping in cozy spots. His laid-back personality makes him a joy to be around, as he calmly welcomes gentle pets and cuddles from everybody. His easygoing demeanor and love for relaxation makes Everett the best nap buddy!

Reason for Foster: Eye Inflammation FIV+ and FELV+

Foster Time Frame: 4 weeks.

Foster Care Plan: Everett is being treated for eye inflammation. He will go home with medication and will have a recheck appointment scheduled for 10/23. We will provide a medical consultation and all the supplies you will need to take care of Everett.

· FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is not highly contagious. It is primarily transmitted between cats through deep bite wounds where saliva from an infected cat enters the bloodstream. As such, it poses minimal risk of transmission to other cats that do not engage in aggressive behavior. The virus is not contagious to humans or non-feline animals

· FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus) is a condition that can affect a cat's lifespan, but many cats with this virus can still live happy and healthy lives for a long time. While FeLV+ is not easily transmitted to humans, it can be spread among cats through saliva, urine, feces, and blood. For this reason, we recommend that FeLV+ cats be the only cat in a household or live with other FeLV+ cats.

Foster to Adopt Program: Everett is available through our Foster to Adopt program, which allows pets awaiting or undergoing medical treatment to be placed with prospective adopters before they are made available for adoption.
