My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Michael's journey to the shelter started in quite an adventurous way! He was rescued by animal control after being fished out of The Lake, where he had been chased by some geese. Understandably, he wasn't too fond of the situation! While he was wearing a harness, and we initially thought his owners would come for him, no one ever did.

Now that he's safe and sound, Michael is ready for a new chapter in his life. He's a friendly, sweet-natured dog who gets along well with both people and other dogs. He's still working on his leash skills, but he sure loves to go on walks.

As an energetic guy, Michael thrives in an environment where he can get plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Whether it's hiking, playing fetch, or just having a good romp in the yard, he's sure to keep you active and entertained.

If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who will bring lots of joy to your life, Michael could be the perfect match for you! He's ready to find his forever home where he can share his love and energy. To give Michael the fresh start he deserves, fill out an adoption application online at [daslakeoftheozarks.com](http://daslakeoftheozarks.com).

Don't miss out on the chance to meet this sweet, energetic boy - he might just be the one you've been waiting for!

More about this shelter

Dogwood Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter.

Since its infancy, compassionate, like-minded volunteers have been the driving force behind Dogwood Animal Shelter. Through auctions and sales, a handful of dedicated people raised enough money to build its first, albeit small facility and was established as a 501(c) 3 in 1976. It was filled beyond capacity almost immediately.

The shelter is funded entirely from donations and proceeds from their Dogwood Animal Shelter Thrift Store.

After years of saving, planning and busting at the seams with fur-babies, in 2005 it was time to build a new facility with their own in-house clinic! Under the direction of Dr. John Reinhold and coupled with a very dedicated and gifted team of Veterinarians and staff, Dogwood Animal Shelter continues to offer low cost spays and neuters to the public as well as services to their shelter buddies; services to approximately 2,000 dogs and cats yearly!

Dogwood Animal Shelter began their journey of being a successful no-kill shelter in 1997, and since then has saved over 40,000 lives!
