My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dood is an adorable 1-1/2 year old male (possible) Hound/Coonhound/Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on June 3, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found him on State Route 26 in Washington County Ohio (no exact location as to where on SR26 he was picked up). Dood was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.

This handsome guy has a snow white short smooth coat, long legs, a black patch at the base of his long tail, and the cutest black-and-white face with dark brown eyes, tiny tan eyebrows, a black button nose, and large floppy ears which frame his face. Dood's left ear is white and his right ear is black with a white streak.

Thanks to HSOV Lead Canine Kennel Tech Jared Nash for accompanying Dood for his outdoor photo session on June 4th. Dood is quite the entertainer and was full of playful antics. If Dood were in grade school, he would surely be the goofy fun-loving class clown (meant as a sincere compliment, of course!) Jared and the photographer couldn't stop laughing at Dood's facial expressions and funny poses .. which seemed to encourage Dood to 'up the game' to keep them amused.

Dood currently weighs 48.6 lbs and is energetic on a leash.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Dood will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surely someone is frantically searching for this little "Dood".

Update: Dood went home with a foster family on June 22, 2024 who plans to adopt him after he is neutered.

Dood came back from his foster home today (July 5, 2024). His foster family dearly loved Dood but didn't feel their home was the perfect one for Dood since he experienced severe separation anxiety. Dood was taken on long walks and had quality time with his people, but was unable to calm down.
