Meet the Pet
This helps RescuedOhio with pet care costs.
Name: Hank
Gender: Male
Age: 8 years
Current Weight: 94lbs
Expected Adult Size: X-Large (over 100 lbs)
Breed: German Shepherd
Energy Level: Low-Medium
Dog Friendly: No, and cannot live with other dogs
Cat Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Apartment Friendly: Yes
Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence not required
Crate Trained: Yes for short periods of time
Potty Trained: Yes
Ideal Home/Adopter: Hank would do well with people who work from home or are retired. He’s happiest hanging by your side while you work or watch tv. He’s very low energy. His foster family has left him uncrated while taking walks around the neighborhood and he just lays by the front door waiting for their return.
Likes: He REALLY loves car rides, afternoon naps, chasing tennis balls, head rubs and giving kisses, sleeping on his dog bed, relaxing on the patio in the evening
Dislikes: Motorcycles
Additional Considerations: While German Shepherds are typically aloof with strangers, he is very friendly and wants to meet everyone!
What makes this dog special: He wants nothing more than to be hanging out next to his people and keep them company. Talk about a perfect companion for those who work from home! Hank knows basic commands (sit, lay down and shake). Hank would do best as an only dog since he’s an older guy who’s set in his ways. He’s extremely friendly and does well meeting new people.
Hank's adoption fee is $195 unless you are a senior yourself as Hank is part of our Seniors for Seniors program with a $65 adoption fee. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Hank, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.
