My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~

Shakespeare’s Health: ***** No obvious health issues found during his last vet exam ****

Temperament:  Shakespeare is not your average Pomeranian; he's a big, tall, and absolutely stunning boy. Despite his size, he's every bit a Pom, and his fluffy fur is truly breathtaking.

This brave fellow has had to go through the challenge of losing his family after 13 years, which understandably left him feeling down when he first arrived. At first, he wasn't too keen on affection or attention, but the good news is, he's come a long way since then. Shakespeare now loves offering his opinion on a variety of matters, from deciding when it's mealtime to when it's time to rise and shine.

Speaking of meals, he's got a healthy appetite and has a special fondness for treats. However, it's important to note that Shakespeare can be a little food-aggressive. If you have other furry companions, you'll need to crate him or keep him in a separate room during meals and treat times.

Shakespeare has also taken to walks quite well and enjoys the company of his foster pack. Although he usually sticks with the group, he enjoys relaxing by himself on the cool bathroom tiles.

He's quite the smart dog and understands how to use the dog door. He likes to bask in the sun for a few minutes a couple of times a day.

What sets Shakespeare apart is his independence. He's the perfect companion if you work in an office, as he doesn't require someone to be home all day. While he enjoys being near his human, he's content on his own and values having his personal space.

Shakespeare is a very good boy who deserves a loving, permanent home where he can feel safe and cherished. Consider giving this unique and resilient Pomeranian the last and best home he truly deserves.

Where did he come from: Surrendered to our rescue because of Life Changes

 Adoption: ***** $300.00 ***** Weight: 17.8 lbs. Approximate age: 4/28/2009

Additional adoption info

Please allow up to 72 hours for a response.

Adopting one of our dogs requires that you fill out an adoption application, have your references checked, and let us visit your home.

The required minimum adoption donation is $250. That amount covers the spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm testing, and one month of heart worm preventative.

We spend about $300.00 just to treat the pommies that are heartworm positive. We have invested more than $1000.00 in several of our pommies--treating them and kenneling them. Kenneling cost $16 a day per dog. We need foster homes!
