My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Note* Farrah qualifies for Recycled Equines Foster to adopt program.

Meet Farrah

**Name:** Farrah
**Breed:** Arabian
**Age:** 23 years old
**Gender:** Mare
**Color:** Gray

**About Farrah:**
Farrah is a beautiful 23-year-old gray Arabian mare looking for a loving forever home. With her elegant demeanor and gentle spirit, she is sure to win your heart. Despite her age, Farrah has retained her youthful energy and curiosity.

**Personality:**
Farrah can be a bit skittish at times, and she prefers her space when it comes to her back feet. She’s not fond of having them touched, so she’ll need a patient and understanding owner who can work with her.

**Likes:**
- **Brushing:** Farrah loves to be brushed. It’s one of her favorite pastimes and a great way to bond with her. She’ll stand still and enjoy the attention, making it a perfect opportunity to strengthen your relationship.

**Challenges:**
- **Hard to Catch:** Farrah can be a bit hard to catch in the field, so she requires someone with patience and a gentle approach to build trust with her.
- **Back Feet Sensitivity:** Due to her sensitivity with her back feet, Farrah needs an experienced handler who understands her needs and can work her feet.

**Ideal Home:**
Farrah is best suited for a calm and experienced horse owner who appreciates the quirks and special needs of an older mare. Her new home should offer a peaceful environment where she can feel safe and loved. Patience, consistency, and a gentle hand will go a long way in helping Farrah thrive.

**Health and Maintenance:**
Despite her age, Farrah is in good health despite the fact that she developed ringbone in one of her front feet. Because of this she could not be ridden. She gets along well but you might detect a slight limp at a trot because her ankle is fused. This doesn’t stop her from galloping around the pasture though. Regular brushing and gentle handling will keep her looking and feeling her best. Attention to her unique needs, especially regarding her back feet, is essential for her well-being.

**Companion Horse:**
Farrah is a wonderful companion animal but unfortunately, not a riding horse. She has ringbone in her front foot, which has already been fused,  nothing needs to be done with it. She makes a great companion for other horses.

**Why Adopt Farrah?**
Farrah is a sweet and elegant mare who, with the right person, will flourish. She has a lot of love and companionship to offer, both as a friend. If you’re looking for a special horse with a gentle spirit and are willing to give her the patience and care she needs, Farrah could be the perfect addition to your family.

Additional adoption info

Please allow up to 72 hours for a response.

Adopting one of our dogs requires that you fill out an adoption application, have your references checked, and let us visit your home.

The required minimum adoption donation is $250. That amount covers the spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm testing, and one month of heart worm preventative.

We spend about $300.00 just to treat the pommies that are heartworm positive. We have invested more than $1000.00 in several of our pommies--treating them and kenneling them. Kenneling cost $16 a day per dog. We need foster homes!
