My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I used to think Mocha was toy-motivated, but really, she's motivated to please you.
I mean, she LOVES toys -- soft ones, tug ones, balls of all sorts -- she'll make a joyful, bouncy game of ANYTHING!
So, I always made it a point to bring a new toy whenever I saw her.
But one day, the shelter was super-busy. All the humans were running in 100 different directions at once (there were a few collisions!), and I didn't have time to grab one.
I felt so guilty walking up to Mocha's run -- I hated the thought of letting her down, toyless.
I opened her gate, preparing for her disappointment... and she bounced over to me, all wiggles and kisses, just thrilled to have a friend nearby! Mocha didn't care about the toy -- she never did! She was just THRILLED to do whatever a friend wanted to do! Play with toys? Sure! Awesome! Sit and snuggle? Heck yeah!!! So, that's what we did that morning -- Mocha happily leaned her soft self against me, and we just cuddled.
I've seen her many times since (too many times -- why is this gentle, young, healthy, housetrained Lab/Pyrenees Mix still here??!!??), sometimes with toys, sometimes without. Mocha doesn't care -- she finds joy in every encounter. For her, it's the togetherness that matters.
If you're looking for a companion who can find joy in any situation -- even a hectic, toyless morning -- then you're looking for Mocha. And she's at Animal Aid, waiting to meet you.
Please come play with, cuddle, or enjoy a peaceful stroll with Mocha any day between 9am and noon, including weekends and holidays.
Mocha would prefer to be an only dog.
Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!

Additional adoption info

If all goes well and you decide to pursue adoption, you will be asked to complete a pre-adopt. Once your family, including any dogs, have also met with the dog you wish to adopt, your application will be submitted to the Adoption Committee for review. We estimate the pre-adoption process can take up to 14 days or longer.

Please note: AAS is committed to finding the best fit for each of our dogs. For this reason, we will accept multiple applications for a dog. In the case of multiple applications, we will select the applicant that is the best fit based on the needs of the dog.
