My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you don't read anything but this sentence, there are only two things you must know about Jimmy:
1. He is somehow just as sweet as he is handsome, and
2. Behind those big ol' puppy dog eyes is the heart of a lion.

His backstory is one of incredible resilience. When we met Jimmy at our local animal control, he walked with a minor limp; it was enough to warrant a trip to the vet but certainly didn't have our alarm bells ringing. Unfortunately, the x-rays told a different story...

Jimmy had the Grand Canyon of fractures in his left femur. It was so severe that when he moved, the head of the femur almost completely separated from the rest of his bone. In order to restore mobility to that leg, Jimmy underwent a femoral head ostectomy (FHO). He recovered like a champ thanks to our awesome vets, and if it weren't for the bump that formed where his femur now joins his hip, you'd never know how severe the injury once was. Jimmy runs up and down the stairs, jumps on the couch when it's time to snuggle, and can hang with the "big dogs" without breaking a sweat. He is healthy, happy, and ready to find his forever people!

And if you're not already convinced, here's everything else you need to fall head-over-heels in love:
- Jimmy is a 6ish-month-old shepherd mix with a clean bill of health
- He's happiest when surrounded by people (especially kiddos!) and certainly doesn't mind being the center of attention
- Is a world class cuddler and hopes you'll let him sleep under the covers at night
- Lives with foster dogs of all shapes and sizes and loves them all equally
- Doesn't care if you spend your Saturday on the couch or on an adventure, as long as he's by your side
- He is neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and ready to head on home
