My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ughhhhhhhhh. Zucchini is a perfect sweet soft muffin head fluffy angel baby. I had six fosters when I took in Zucchini and it's like he decided he would just be an absolute specimen of perfection to help me out. He is that first kid you have that makes you think the second kid will be a breeze (and then is not). Everyone loves Zuke. He is the Paul Rudd of cats. He is super duper soft and has gorgeous green eyes and will probably age like Paul Rudd too. Truly unfair.

Zucchini is what I would call a 'spill kitty.' That is when you pick him up he just sort of droops into your arms. He has this roly poly belly he has had since he was a baby and that alone is enough to melt hearts. He is a big fan of quietly requesting to be picked up and then accompanying you as you do errands. While definitely not shy at all, he isn't an in your face kitty and tends to love one on one bonding time. That being said he isn't afraid of strangers and he has never met a new toy he didn't immediately play with. Surprisingly he isn't that destructive either.

Probably the cutest thing about Zucchini, which there are many, is that he does these weird squeaky grunt thing for seemingly no reason. It is extremely unique, impossible to explain and painfully endearing. The closest resemblance is to that of a pig rooting around.

One of Zucchini's favorite things to do is help you work. If you have a desk job he is one of those kitties who needs his own chair, maybe his own laptop, and will constantly oversee your work.

Zucchini is looking for a forever home with his diva but also absolutely dollface sister Crow, lovingly nicknamed Crowbar (KRLA-A-6877). The two of them party pretty hard together. Zucchini tends to lead the way, but Crow is never far behind. Classic little sister energy.

Sweet as pie, easygoing, but a total lover, Zucchini needs a human or humans who are going to let him be more than a pet. He is a plus one, a member of the family.

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
