My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peru is ready for a great adventure! He doesn't think the shelter is very fun and we don't blame him. It isn't fun at all to be locked in a kennel for days on end. Peru is a big fan of sniff time on his walks. He loves a good chest rub and a few snacks for sits. He also might like to claim dibs on the chairs and toys he sees. He is a nice mid-aged boy with plenty of playful energy.

Came in as a stray on 5/25/24.

Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL

Email visitcacc@cityofchicago.org for more information.

The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID.

All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter.

Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after time for decompression for the shelter dog.
