My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pretty 10-month-old Luna was found as a stray in north Stockton. The kind family that found her, checked around their neighborhood, checked for a microchip, and even checked the Stockton shelter to no avail. They decided to contact GSGSR.

Luna just completed her six-week obedience training class with K9 SOS https://www.facebook.com/K9sosdogtraining/ and NAILED the graduation obstacle course! Training has definitely improved Luna's all-around confidence.

Luna is housebroken, rides well in a car, and although she lives with a Labrador brother named Cholo (who can get on her nerves), Luna is still learning doggie social skills and manners and can get excited when she sees new dogs.

Luna would do best with an experienced and patient owner, one who can and will commit to continuing her training.

More about this rescue

Golden State German Shepherd Rescue
is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in the Central Valley of Northern California

Our mission is to find loving homes for German Shepherd Dogs in need of a second chance and to educate the public about this highly intelligent and versatile breed.

Most of the dogs in our program come from Central Valley animal shelters where they have run out of time. We place them into foster homes to assess their needs and gives us time to fully vet them. And then we find perfect fit adopters throughout Northern California..
