Meet Lilly May: The Lovable Foxhound Mix Ready for Her Forever Home!

Name: Lilly May
Age: 2 years
Weight: 35 lbs
Location: Lake City, FL
Adoption Fee: $250

Lilly May is a sweet and affectionate 2-year-old Foxhound mix who loves to snuggle up and be close to her humans. She has soft, kind eyes and a gentle nature, making her a perfect companion for anyone looking for a loving dog.

About Lilly May:

Temperament: Lilly May doesn't jump and isn't pushy. She's a crawl-in-your-lap kind of girl who just wants to be loved.

Energy Level: While she loves to relax and snuggle, Lilly May also enjoys running and needs an area to burn off some energy. A fenced yard is ideal, as she has a knack for chasing deer and rabbits.

Behavior: Occasionally, she may try to take herself on a run, so keep an eye on gates. She's improving but still needs supervision.

Leash Skills: Lilly May is well-behaved on a leash and enjoys walking. She's been good for the vet and is crate trained with no accidents.

Compatibility: Great with kids and other dogs. She has shown interest in chasing barn cats, so careful introduction and supervision are advised. She doesn't mind horses.

Training: Lilly May is smart and picks up on things quickly. While she isn't currently in a training class, she knows basic commands like "sit" and is well-mannered but could benefit from some obedience training.

Lilly May is a happy girl who will smile when you pet her. She's very easygoing and would make a great running or hiking partner. She's also very sensitive and gets her feelings hurt easily, so a gentle approach works best with her. Lilly May will quickly bond with her forever person and become a once-in-a-lifetime companion.

Lilly May is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and micro-chipped. Home visits are required and non-negotiable.

More about this rescue

The London Sanctuary (TLS) focuses on providing a safe haven for elderly and unwanted Beagles and Hound Dogs, as well as other at-risk, large to medium-sized breeds, as space and funds permit. Special consideration is given to hounds of all types, which are also greatly at risk in northeast Florida.

• TLS rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes as many dogs from area shelters as possible. Our priority is to save dogs most at-risk of euthanasia in shelter facilities.
• TLS attempts to place dogs through online pet-listing services and forums, and social media.
• TLS thoroughly screens prospective owners with home and veterinary reference checks.
• TLS houses a limited number of dogs as care-for-life dogs that cannot be placed either due to age and/or medical conditions.
• TLS provides ongoing support and education to all adopters.
• TLS spays/neuters and gives required immunizations and necessary medical treatment to all dogs prior to placement.
