Meet Snips: The Energetic and Loving Foxhound Mix Ready for Adventure!

Name: Snips
Age: 2 years
Weight: 35 lbs
Location: Lake City, FL
Adoption Fee: $250

Snips is a happy-go-lucky 2-year-old male Foxhound mix who brings joy and excitement wherever he goes. Every time you walk out the door, Snips will greet you with pure enthusiasm and happiness. He loves attention and is always eager to be by your side, making him the perfect companion for an active family.

About Snips:

Temperament:** Snips is always happy to see his people and loves to run and play. He's friendly with other dogs and kids, making him an ideal addition to a multi-dog family or an active household.

Energy Level: High energy. Snips loves to run the yard and make sure there are no 'intruders' (squirrels, deer, turkeys, birds). He enjoys running, hiking, and biking activities.

Behavior: While Snips loves to explore and may take himself on a walk if the gate is left open, he usually comes back quickly unless he catches the scent of a deer or rabbit. He's learning to mind the gate better.

Leash Skills: Snips walks well on a leash and would make a great hiking or running partner.

House-Broken: Yes, he appears to be house-broken and has not had any accidents in the house or his crate.

Crate Trained: Yes, Snips is crate trained and comfortable being in his crate.

Training: Snips is a good boy but needs help learning basic commands like sit, stay, and down. He tends to jump up and down at feeding time but doesn’t usually jump on people.

Compatibility: Great with other dogs and kids. He is not aggressive towards barn cats but loves to chase them, so careful supervision is needed.

Additional Information:

Snips is always happy to see his people and needs a family that can spend a lot of time with him. He is very smart and will learn commands quickly with consistent training.

He would be happiest in a home with a yard where he can run and play, and he enjoys having canine siblings to play with.

Snips is also content to hang out with you in his crate and loves being an inside dog.

Fun Facts:

Snips is super smart and will pick up training quickly. He loves to jump straight up and spin in a circle at dinner time, showing his excitement for mealtime.

Snips is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and micro-chipped.

Home visits are required and non-negotiable.

More about this rescue

The London Sanctuary (TLS) focuses on providing a safe haven for elderly and unwanted Beagles and Hound Dogs, as well as other at-risk, large to medium-sized breeds, as space and funds permit. Special consideration is given to hounds of all types, which are also greatly at risk in northeast Florida.

• TLS rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes as many dogs from area shelters as possible. Our priority is to save dogs most at-risk of euthanasia in shelter facilities.
• TLS attempts to place dogs through online pet-listing services and forums, and social media.
• TLS thoroughly screens prospective owners with home and veterinary reference checks.
• TLS houses a limited number of dogs as care-for-life dogs that cannot be placed either due to age and/or medical conditions.
• TLS provides ongoing support and education to all adopters.
• TLS spays/neuters and gives required immunizations and necessary medical treatment to all dogs prior to placement.
