My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Danica will need Companion Dog in the home and do best with a fenced in yard **

Danica “Danny” Patrick -Boxer/Australian Shepard -10 months old -gorgeous brown and soft. -Sweet, affectionate, goofy, obedient, smart, playful, she is timid and still getting used to outside noises while on walks and she needs to have a fur sibling to show her the way and build up her confidence. She came from a home with over 12 dogs, so a companion dog is required for her to help her feel safe.

-Moderate energy. She loves to search for bones and toys to play with but also likes to take it easy. She’s needs a 6 ft fence because outside noises can spook her. -House and Crate trained. However she’d prefer to sleep in the same room with you. -Good in cars. -No barking as of yet. -

Danny is a bundle of joy who’s loyal and loving to her family & fur friends. She plays very well with others. She just needs someone who will be understanding/patient because she is apprehensive and timid while on leash or sometimes off leash at the dog park. She knows sit, stay, paw, lay down and plays fetch as she graduated from our Pups4Parole training program. She is super keen on anything you say to her and remembers cues from the first time.

Could you consider helping this sweet girl to blossom?

More about this rescue

Needy Paws Rescue, located in St. Louis, MO, is devoted to saving animals in need, whose lives are in danger at high kill animal shelters & animal controls, those who are strays, have been abandoned or whose family has faced an extreme emergency, regardless of their size or breed.

Our organization is made up of Volunteers who have been involved in various animal rescues in the St. Louis area and we plan to use our knowledge & experience to make a difference. We believe spaying & neutering is a very important step in keeping pets healthy & happy, plus it helps decrease overpopulation. All of our rescued animals will be spayed or neutered, they will be microchipped to ensure they are identifiable if lost or stolen and they will be current on all of their vaccinations before going to their Forever Homes.

We are foster-based and all pets stay in approved Foster Homes that have passed inspections, reference checks and are qualified to take care of our rescued animals while they wait for their Forever Family. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will be making home visits and conducting veterinarian checks & reference checks to ensure the pets will have a safe, loving, happy home. Forever Families will be taught how to care for their pet and learn how to get the most out of their relationship with their new family member. We also have an after-care specialist who will be in contact with the families after the adoption to see how well they're doing together
