My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tyson! This sweet old man is ready to leave the hustle and bustle of a busy rescue, and find peace and comfort in a home of his own. We rescued Tyson from a high kill shelter, where he was on the euthanasia list, simply due to his age. Luckily for Tyson, we stepped in and helped to give him a second chance at life! Tyson gets along well with other dogs, though he prefers calmer dogs, since he is in his calmer years. Even though he is a bit older, Tyson still gets bouts of energy and wants to run and play for short periods of time; his favorite playtime activity is soaking and lounging in a shallow pool, where he can cool down on a warm day. We aren't sure what Tyson went through before he wound up in the system, but we know that he may have had some unpleasant experiences, since he can get spooked if you grab for him without him clearly seeing it. If you are willing to give an adorable senior dog a new lease on life, apply to meet Tyson today!

Thank you so much for looking into wags and whiskers for your next family member.

All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.

Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.

If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment.  530-895-8888

If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at  http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html  if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.

More about this rescue

Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all breed, NO KILL, animal rescue organization, incorporated in August 2015. We are a primarily volunteer driven group with a number years experience with animals and rescue. Our mission is to rescue, foster, rehabilitate and rehome, abandoned, abused and unwanted animals in Willows and Chico, California.

We rescue animals at risk of euthanasia in shelters, as well as those surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We are committed to helping the most needy, as well as the readily adoptable.
