My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact the Cat Team (catapplications@graspinc.org) for more information about this pet.

DOB:  11/01/22

Lana was a stray cat who was rescued from the cold on October 23, 2023. She had four kittens 3 days later who she has cared for lovingly ever since. Having been a stray cat, it takes a little effort to earn her trust but after you do, she's a sweetheart. She sometimes will swipe her paw towards someone (without ever scratching) and maybe even hiss a little, to let them know if she is irritated or scared. It's a bit intimidating at first but she is just telling them she doesn't like something they are doing or that something made her uncomfortable. She almost always gets over it in just a few minutes and wants to be pet again.

She loves to be brushed and scratched on her behind, ears, head and face. She loves seafood flavors at mealtime and loves Temptations Seafood Medley Treats. She enjoys playing with anything that crinkles, especially kicker toys. She loves wandering around and seeing everything that's going on and spends a lot of time looking out windows at birds, squirrels, bugs and her outdoor friends (other cats from the neighborhood).

Lana prefers a quiet, hidden place when sleeping (a cozy, covered cat bed works well). She also likes to cuddle with her (now nearly grown) kittens and was comfortable sleeping alongside friends she had outside. She hasn't gotten along well with some other cats she has been introduced to, but this may be partially because she was being protective of her kittens.

If you have the right home and patience to help Lana become comfortable, apply to adopt her today!

This cat has been combo-tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, received all age-appropriate vaccinations and is altered.

More about this rescue

G.R.A.S.P. stands for Greece Residents Assisting Stray Pets. GRASP's goal is to give animals, primarily those picked up by Greece Animal Control, a second chance for a safe, happy, and healthy life. Before G.R.A.S.P., Inc. was formed, animals that were not claimed by their owners were routinely euthanized. We also strive to educate the public on the benefits of spay/neuter and the need to tag their pets at all times. G.R.A.S.P., Inc. is a non-profit organization and is completely dependent upon donations from the public.
