My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lil Boy recently came to ARC because his owner could no longer care for him.  He adjusted quickly and found his favorite resting spot on a condo near the door inside the cottage where he can watch everything that is happening both inside and outside his house. He does not mind being picked up and cuddled. He also enjoys quality lap time with gentle stroking and petting.  Come meet Lil Boy! Share a little cuddle time with him and we are sure you will want to take him home with you.

Lil Boy is FIV positive. FIV in cats is similar to HIV (the human immunodeficiency virus) and causes a feline disease that is similar to AIDS in humans. Although FIV is similar to AIDS in humans it is a highly species-specific virus that infects only felines. While there is currently no definitive cure for FIV in felines, with proper care there is no reason a cat infected with FIV cannot live a very normal, healthy life for years -- if managed appropriately.

Lil Boy is 1 year old.

More about this rescue

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) of Fort Myers is a not for profit animal welfare society dedicated to stopping the escalating cost to impound, care for, kill and dispose of dogs and cats dying for no reason other than having been born. ARC is helping to cut the large numbers of homeless animals which eventually cuts the costs to taxpayers, which to date has reached over half a million dollars a year.

ARC is a non-euthanasia organization. Once we accept an animal for adoption, IT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. We are here to help the unwanted and neglected animals who now face certain death.
