Meet Miss Josey Joe! Josey is a 1 1/2 year old, female, Shepherd/Akita mix that weighs 57 lbs. She was originally found off of Windjammer Lane at the Harbor in Rockwall and taken to the local animal shelter. Miss Josey is a smart active girl that is looking for a FURever home of her own. She does great with other dogs and has no interest in cats. She is housebroken and crate trained.

Josey has moved into foster care, but she really needs a forever home to call her own! Josey definitely will do best in a home with other dogs as that is who she is the most comfortable with. She would do ok in a home with kids 6+ years of age due to her shy nature.

We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Adopters will complete an adoption app. If he/she has a pet, we will check their vet reference and a home visit is not needed (as long as the vet reference is current). All pets must be up to date current on Heartworm prevention and S/N. If a home visit is needed, we will complete that ASAP--as we don't want any delays in the adoption process. The adoption fees are listed here: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-fees/. There is a 5-day grace period to make sure he/she is a good fit for your family. A full refund will be issued if the pet is returned within the 5-day trial period.
