My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Prima is an extremely smart and affectionate 23-month-old spayed German Shepherd who is  looking for a new home.  She has started to nip at her blind person when they are alone together, who has now  become fearful of Prima.  She does not nip when someone else is in the room.

Prima is eager to learn and picks up on training exercises very quickly. She loves going on walks and can keep up while jogging. She loves playing fetch and zooming around grassy areas.  When it's time for bed, Prima is the perfect snuggle buddy. She has a strong bark which she uses to protect her home. However, she only uses it sparingly.  She is fully crate-trained and house-trained.

Her recall is solid and she walks well on leash. Her favorite toys include squeaky balls, tug toys, treat puzzles (she gets an A+), and bones to chew on.

She knows several commands such as SIT, STAY and HEEL and is clicker trained.  We started professional training with her.  She will sit politely while you are serving her food and wait until you tell her to "break " before eating. Prima will thrive with someone who can spend time taking her on adventures and teaching her new things.

Prima is good with other dogs and will share toys and treats. She is very dominant and will play rough.

She currently lives with 1 cat. Prima is very interested in the cat and very excitable when the cat is on the move.

Prima would do great in an active house with experienced Shepherd handlers.

More about this rescue

We are a group of German Shepherd lovers who help homeless German Shepherds that are in dire straits and need rescue.

We rescue dogs from kill shelters or other situations where the dogs' life is in danger. We fully vet our dogs and our wonderful fosters care for our dogs until their "forever home" is found!

We are a dating service for dogs, helping potential adopters find the perfect match for their families. We will work with you tirelessly until we find the perfect fit for your family!

We make a lifetime commitment to every dog and every adopter and we are there to answer questions and help with the transition to your home.

Why do we do it? We LOVE dogs , especially German Shepherds, and it breaks our hearts that so many adoptable GSD's never make it out of shelters.

We are an all volunteer group and are always looking for new volunteers to help us in our mission to save dogs!

FOSTERS, we need YOU!!!!

We need fosters to provide a safe haven while a dog is waiting for his/her forever home! If you think you cannot foster because you couldn't let your foster dog leave, talk to us!! While many of us have adopted one or more of our fosters ( we call it Failing Fostering 101 !!!) we can tell you how wonderful it is to see your foster become a beloved addition to a new family.............and opens up a space to save another dog on death row!

If you have any questions at all about fostering please give us a shout and we are happy to answer all questions.

If you cannot foster, we always need volunteers to help host events, do fundraising and PR .

And , of course, we always need donations to pay the vets who keep our dogs healthy and the trainers who help us with doggie manners!

Donations are always welcome and very much appreciated!
