My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Plume, or Dame Plume to her friends, arrived at the Animal Rescue Network in December 2019. She had been found wandering with her babies. A kind person had taken her in, but Plume found it very difficult to adapt to the presence of other cats. So we took her in. In April 2020, she was adopted by a family who decided to bring her back to us in March 2024. Obviously, Plume was quite stressed by her return to the shelter, since the noise and smell of other cats are stressors for her. She's now ready to go back to an adoptive family who, this time, will take care of her for the rest of her life. Given the stress she's under at the shelter, Plume isn't always at her best. Her impatience can sometimes get the better of her, and she doesn't like to be cuddled. When things are calm, however, she's happy to be petted and asks for more. She loves to play and enjoys treats. She's looking for a family with no other cats and no young children. She's looking for a family who understands her situation and wants to offer her a peaceful environment. Who will have a heart big enough to give this mittened beauty a second chance? Plume is a carrier of the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). For more information about FIV:  https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv     Plume is an adult cat so the adoption fees for her are $290. She is sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. She is positive for the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) but negative for the feline leukaemia virus (FeLV). Health insurances are offered for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the help of the adoption team as long as you need it. You will also have access, for the first month following adoption, to a 30 minutes video consultation with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood (  https://www.felinegood.ca  ).

In order to get a chance to adopt her, please fill out our adoption directly on our website:   https://www.reseausecoursanimal.org/contacts/adoption-form/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All new adoption homes are carefully screened to determine if they are suitable. There is an adoption fee that includes the sterilization, initial vaccination of every animal, testing for FIV and FeLV of all cats at the shelter, and a 21 days trial period. A contract is always signed between the ARN and the adopter for their protection. A follow-up by an ARN adoption coordinator is often done either by telephone or by visit, and we also offer help/cousel for the life of the cat.
