My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Target: Your New Best Friend with a Heart of Gold and a Tale of Resilience. At 3 years old, this lab mix is the epitome of sweetness and goofiness, wrapped up in a gentle soul eager for adventures. Despite his tough past, including surviving being shot 3 times, Target's love for people and life remains undiminished. He's fully healed, showcasing incredible resilience and loyalty. Fully house and kennel trained, Target is a fantastic companion who gets along well with other dogs, though he's a bit too curious about cats. He's looking for someone who appreciates the joy of companionship and the thrill of adventure. Our hope for this sweet boy is for him to find a home where he can thrive and share his love.

His adoption fee is $200, which covers his vetting, neuter, microchip, and vaccinations. If you're interested in adopting Target, please submit an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Please allow up to 48 hours for processing. Take the first step towards adding a loyal and loving member to your family. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationNovember 7, 2024, 6:37 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
