When Spring is sprung, there is new life in the air. There is an awakening from slumber and a new cycle begins. When you have a young, sweet and affectionate litter of pups that exude those wonderful qualities, there is most definitely love in the air. The heart knows what the heart wants, and this sweet, four-month-old shepherd/basset hound litter knows what they want as well. You have never known love like this before until you have met Lotus. This little heart throb is full of life and at 30 pounds, he will grow bigger in the days ahead. He is estimated to be a medium size dog of up to 60 pounds when fully grown. What size he will tap out at is a guess for anybody. He is certain to be a fun loving, adventurous gal with lots of ambition for excitement.
His bubbly personality not only gets lots of attention, but it also draws in a crowd. When drawing in scores of people and other dogs, Lotus is first to extend his paw in the name of friendship. He enjoys interactions with other dogs, children and adults. He cannot get a big enough network of friends. Lotus has not had the pleasure of being introduced to a feline since coming into rescue. Perhaps he will have the opportunity in the future but for now his acceptance is unknown. Lotus will be delighted to frolic with other canines, run around in a secure area, relax with chew toys, etc. He has a bunch of charisma to charm all of his friends and family. He dreams of growing up and being a companion for long runs, hikes and swims. Maybe his future will be as a camping buddy. He would enjoy the camping experience with his family and tons of other interactions. Whatever his forever family does, Lotus will want to be right with them.
His house, crate and leash training are in progress, and he is learning all he can with taking one day at a time. He knows his family will provide him the love and support he needs to make his goals a success.
As with all puppies, Lotus is full of curiosity and wonderment, and is ready to grow from adorable puppy to amazing dog with the right guidance and patience. He will need a home with someone who has the time, desire and energy to train and socialize him so that he can become the perfect lifelong companion.
Take the opportunity to live in his world and cherish the love Lotus has to offer. He will bring sunshine and happiness whenever he goes.
