My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more.

Alfie is a very sweet, curious and intelligent dog who's very loyal his foster family! They think he's a real catch! He has the energy to enjoy walks and runs but also just loves to come home and couch potato by his person. Alfie loves to shower his foster family with kisses and play with the other dog in the house, they're bonded and sometimes play chase and spar together. When he gets really excited he'll proudly run around with his toys. One of his favorite activities is squiggling in the grass and performing synchronized squiggling with his furry foster sister.

A few things Alfie and his foster family are working on is his prey instinct (no cats, please!). Overall Alfie is so happy to meet new people, but can sometimes be fearful of some strangers or unfamiliar dogs, resulting in a fear based reaction. Alfie would thrive best in a home where he's not going to be startled a lot, so a calm home without small children would be a better fit for him.

Alfie is truly the sweetest and would make a great companion.

Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.

** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience. **
